Resolution

Well, I haven't been teaching in Korea for almost a year, and boy, do I miss it!

I miss my students. I miss their parents. And most of all, I miss the challenges that I face with each kid and the reward of seeing them really learn--about themselves as well as about English!

And it's time to begin using this blog and not letting it sit here!

So... I'm resolving (uh-oh! Does that word doom this effort?) to use this blog to contend with the various issues I face as an English teacher. By this, I mean that I will post not only what has worked for me teaching English in Korea, but also other issues that I struggle with as a mother of an ESL student, a mother trying to raise bilingual students, a tutor helping children grasp literature and grammar for school, as well as an EFL teacher teaching not only the English language but also trying to make the application of that language explicit across my students' lives and their curriculum.

I'd like my posts to follow the format:

Theory:

Research:

Practice:

And my first topic will be about teaching to the test.

Alas, we shall see what comes of it.

Adieu!
